A synopsis sets the stage
Every story will start with a genre and a story arc. It will be a short description of the underlying themes of the story that need to be carried throughout. It sets the tone and gives writers a shared foundation to build from. The synopsis is written by the ElectaPlot team to kick things off.
Writers compete to write each chapter
When a new chapter opens, you have 3 days to write and submit the next part of the story. Read what came before, follow the writing guidelines for the chapter, and submit. Each submission is reviewed by the ElectaPlot team before going to a vote — this keeps the quality bar high.
24 hours to vote
Once submissions close and reviews are complete, voting opens for 24 hours. Every member can read all the approved submissions and vote for their favorite. The chapter with the most votes becomes the official next chapter of the story, and the cycle begins again.
Multiple stories, always in motion
Multiple books — across different genres — run on staggered schedules at the same time. One story might be mid-vote while another just opened for submissions. There's always something happening, always a reason to come back. Every contributor whose chapter was selected becomes part of the story's history.
ElectaPlot is built on the belief that writers who build these stories should share in their success. We're developing a contributor revenue-sharing program and will publish full details before our first book goes to market.
